I attempted to put a city tax deduction in the program. When I found that I did not need it, I tried to remove it, but when I calculated the checks,
it still deducted $1.00 from the employee check. I have unchecked everything in the company settings and the deductions settings, but it still deducts $1.00

Did you check the employee setup? You might forget to delete the $1 deduction there.
