Can I use 1099-NEC to replace 1099-MISC? The answer is No.

Form 1099-NEC is not a replacement for Form 1099-MISC. Form 1099-NEC is designed to report nonemployee compensation only. Beginning with tax year 2020, you need to issue 1099-NEC form to your contractors.
