Have a quick tax question. So when we deduct taxes from our employees checks based off their w4 form. Do you normally put those holdings in a savings account till quarterly filing? I guess I'm just trying to understand how the government knows that employee has paid taxes? Is it based off our company quarterly filing?

1. The employer needs to deposit federal and state taxes, and maybe local taxes (ie: city tax or county tax).

2. Deposit schedule

Some companies need to deposit tax each quarter, some need to deposit monthly even biweekly. Please contact your local office to check your company schedule.
